Lovers of cider and cheese will have the opportunity to experience the 3rd Annual Downeast Cider+Cheese Festival, November 13 -15, 2020 in Ellsworth, Maine. The event is hosted by Heart of Ellsworth with sponsorship from the Maine Office of Tourism and Bangor Savings Bank.

Celebrating a revival of two traditional foods, hard cider and cheese, the Downeast Cider+Cheese Festival honors the rich tradition of Maine’s historic apple industry, the first and only event of its kind in the state. Visit visitmaine.com for additional statewide information.

Maine CDC safety protocols will be implemented and the public is required to wear a mask when in attendance while maintaining social distance.

Terry played a pivotal role in preparing the current leaders of The Ellsworth American to carry on the tradition of solid reporting to our community. We are excited to welcome Bill Fogle as Heart of Ellsworth's newest board member! Bill's extensive knowledge of Ellsworth's history coupled with his enthusiasm for our organization and its mission is a huge win for our community. Volunteer Spotlight - Anne Russenberger-Keefe
Anne Russenberger-Keefe has dedicated countless hours over the past five years to Heart of Ellsworth community events and programs. From volunteering for our beloved Taste of Ellsworth event to scheduling the activities and volunteers for our Affiliate Community visit with the Maine Downtown Center back in March. Anne is our new chair of the Design Committee that focuses on beautification efforts and expanding the visual mission of a vibrant downtown. Hike of the Month - Self-Guided Walking Tour of State Street

Thanks to a generous grant from the Maine Community Foundation, we are partnering with the Ellsworth Historical Society to bring you images of Ellsworth’s past. By highlighting historic downtown locations and events, we aim to foster a present-day pride and connection to our Main Street community. We invite you to visit the Ellsworth Historical Society on Facebook and encourage your support of the Museum in the Streets project and archival work of the society.
