Formerly the Downtown Ellsworth Association, Heart of Ellsworth transitioned to a 501(c) 3 structure in 2016 through a group of engaged volunteers. As a non-profit, we rely on the generosity of sponsors and donors like you. Consider donating today to leave an indelible mark on the heart of our town.
What it means to be a Main Street America Affiliate™️
As a Main Street America Affiliate™️, Heart of Ellsworth is part of a national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities that share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. Locally, Maine is home to ten Main Street communities organised by the Maine Downtown Center. MDC is the state coordinator for the National Main Street Center’s Main Street America program. There are currently ten communities in Maine which have received national accreditation from Main Street America and are designated ‘Main Street Maine member’.
