Made Here, Giving Back Here: A New Partnership with Fogtown Brewing Company
Heart of Ellsworth is grateful to announce a new fundraising partnership with Fogtown Brewing Company. As of August 2026, Fogtown Brewing Company is contributing 5% of sales from its designated Table Cider, presented as “Le cœur de Ellsworth,” to support our ongoing work throughout downtown.
About the Cider
This semi dry, sparkling cider is rooted in the landscape and history of this region. Fogtown gathers heritage apples from local orchards and forages wild fruit from trees found throughout Ellsworth and along the Downeast coast. Some of those trees are remnants of old orchards or homesteads. Their apples carry flavors shaped by the land, the growing season and stories that may no longer be fully known.
Fogtown brings that harvest forward through a cider making tradition that has existed here for hundreds of years. The apples are pressed, fermented with native yeasts and aged in oak barrels for at least six months. Each vintage reflects the fruit and conditions of that particular year, creating a cider that could only come from this place.
in partnership
Now, every glass ordered at Fogtown can carry that connection one step further. Five percent of each purchase of the designated cider supports Heart of Ellsworth and the community work that helps downtown remain a place people want to live in, walk through, gather in, and enjoy.
We are deeply thankful to Jon Stein and the Fogtown team for creating a partnership that supports our organization while inviting more people to experience something so thoughtfully crafted. This is the kind of reciprocal relationship that makes local support tangible: a downtown business invests in the community around it, and the community has yet another delicious reason to walk through its doors.
The next time you are at Fogtown, order “Le cœur de Ellsworth” and raise a glass to the apples, people and shared commitment behind it. You will be enjoying a cider made from Ellsworth while helping give back to the work happening here.
