About the Headliner

Down East Dead was originally formed as a way for some local midcoast friends to get together during the days of Covid, when live music as we knew it came crashing to a halt. Once live music re-emerged, the band hit the scene and quickly garnered recognition from heads all across the state of Maine as one of the newest and authentic tributes to the music of the Grateful Dead in the area.

Down East Dead attributes their sound to the Brent Mydland years of the Dead with whole-hearted energy, love, and enthusiasm. But it doesn’t stop there. D.E.D. often ventures into the territories of the Allman Brothers Band, Santana, The Band, Rolling Stones, Phish and more. Don’t be surprised to even hear an original song intertwined within their sets as the music. Creativity never stops!
