Franklin Street Parklet
The Franklin Street Parklet is a collaborative project between the City of Ellsworth and Heart of Ellsworth, aimed at transforming a small downtown street into a vibrant, inclusive, and people-centered public green space. Located in front of Ellsworth City Hall, Franklin Street becomes a seasonal pop-up gathering place with seating, greenery, and space for community events and social connection.

Heart of Ellsworth, the City of Ellsworth, and local partners host events in Franklin Street Parklet. Each summer, residents and visitors can hear live music and watch films outdoors in the parklet. Programming for Summer 2025 is ongoing. Businesses can contribute via check or through PayPal by clicking the button below. Once payment is made, staff will follow up to collect information for marketing.

The soul benders
Thursday, July 31st at 7:00 PM
Free outdoor concert with the Soul Benders in partnership with WERU.
Maine outdoor film festival (MOFF)
Wednesday, August 20th at 7:30 PM
Films will begin at 7:30PM so be sure to show up a little early to get your spot! This is an All Ages event. Suggested donation of $5 to $10 to support Heart of Ellsworth programming.
Program Notes: The film program will last about 90 minutes with no intermission.
There are picnic tables, but consider bringing your own camp chair and a blanket!

Together, the community is reclaiming this urban space for public benefit, ensuring the final design reflects shared values, needs, and creativity.
