The Maine Outdoor Film Festival (MOFF) brings outdoor storytelling to communities across Maine through curated film screenings that celebrate adventure, conservation, creativity, and connection to place.
In Ellsworth, MOFF is an invitation to gather in late summer, experience stories rooted in the outdoors, and celebrate the landscapes, waterways, trails, and creative spirit that shape life in Downeast Maine.
Heart of Ellsworth hosts MOFF locally as part of the work to strengthen downtown as a place for arts, culture, outdoor recreation, and community connection. The event aligns with Heart of Ellsworth’s broader goals to support a vibrant downtown, encourage people to explore local businesses and public spaces, and highlight Ellsworth as a destination in its own right.
Ellsworth has hosted MOFF screenings for the past three years. Each year, the event brings people together around film, place, and the joy of being outside.

The Maine Outdoor Film Festival Selects Tour returns to Ellsworth for an evening of outdoor films, food, activities and community beneath the summer sky.
Arrive beginning at 6 p.m. to grab dinner, visit participating organizations and enter the event raffle before settling onto the lawn for a curated 90-minute program of outdoor adventure, conservation and connection films.
This is an all-ages event.

RAFFLE Details
Heart of Ellsworth and its presenting partners will host a cash-only raffle with three prizes and three winners.
Tickets may be purchased in person at 16 State Street from August 1 through August 26, at select community events where Heart of Ellsworth is tabling, and at Knowlton Park from 6PM - 7PM on the night of the festival.
A portion of the raffle proceeds will be donated to the Grayson Mote Memorial Scholarship at Ellsworth High School.

Two-Night Bar Harbor Cabin Stay
Valued at more than $600
Escape to a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired cabin in Bar Harbor for two guests. Built in 2017, the private cabin includes a double bed, small kitchen, tiled shower, Wi-Fi, heat and two parking spaces. It is located three miles from two entrances to Acadia National Park and just a six-minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor.
The two-night stay must be redeemed between January and March 2027 and is subject to the host’s availability.
Grayson Mote Memorial Scholarship
The Grayson Mote Memorial Scholarship was established to honor Grayson’s memory and celebrate the positive impact he had on those around him.
Awarded annually to a graduating senior from Ellsworth High School, the scholarship recognizes a student who demonstrates kindness, perseverance, character and commitment to their community. Recipients may reflect these values through academics, athletics, community service, leadership or personal determination.
The scholarship serves as a lasting tribute to Grayson’s life and legacy while supporting a deserving student as they pursue their future goals.
