A $10 Way to Support a Favorite Free Community Event

On Wednesday, August 26, the Maine Outdoor Film Festival returns to Ellsworth for an evening of outdoor films, food, and activities at Knowlton Park. The event is free and open to all, which is important to us. We want people to be able to show up, bring a chair or blanket, spend an evening together and experience the festival without a ticket price standing between them and the event.

Keeping community programming free, however, still takes support. This year, one of the most direct ways to help is through the MOFF raffle, with proceeds helping Heart of Ellsworth continue bringing events like this to the community and a portion benefiting the Grayson Mote Memorial Scholarship at Ellsworth High School. There is also plenty of incentive to enter: three winners will take home more than $1,000 in prizes, including a one month VOLTA climbing pass valued at $115, a Frenchman Bay Conservancy Sea Bags package valued at more than $300 and a two night Bar Harbor cabin stay valued at more than $600.

For anyone who wants to support MOFF but may not make it to 16 State Street to purchase raffle tickets in person, we created the $10 MOFF Supporter Special. It includes five raffle tickets plus a 4 x 4 “04605” sticker, and your raffle numbers are secured even if you cannot attend the festival or be present for the drawing. It is a small purchase that directly supports our ability to keep this event accessible to the whole community, with a pretty good chance at something exciting in return.

The Maine Outdoor Film Festival takes place Wednesday, August 26 at Knowlton Park, 160 State Street. Food vendors, activities and community partner tables open at 6 p.m., the raffle drawing begins at 7:15 p.m. and the film program begins at 7:30 p.m.

Additional raffle tickets can also be purchased in person at 16 State Street leading up to the festival and at Knowlton Park from 6 to 7 p.m. on August 26.
