Your Guide to the Downtown Cider Crawl

The Downtown Cider Crawl runs November 9–14, bringing apple- and cheese-inspired food and drink specials to downtown Ellsworth’s restaurants, pubs, and cafés. Sponsored by Nova Foods, this part of the Downeast Cider + Cheese Festival gives you a week to revisit favorite spots, try somewhere new, and earn chances to win festival prizes.

Nine local businesses are joining the crawl:

Building on last year’s Pub Crawl, we’ve opened this year’s event to all kinds of downtown eateries, because the more, the merrier! Bringing cafés, restaurants, and pubs together puts local food and community at the center, with more ways for everyone to participate. We’ve also stretched the crawl across the week, giving you time to explore different spots, try their seasonal specials, and enjoy downtown when it works for you.

Here’s how to join:

  1. Pick up a passport at any participating business.

  2. Explore at your own pace. Visit participating businesses in any order during their regular hours. Spread your stops throughout the week or make a day of it.

  3. Make a purchase and collect a sticker. Each business has its own sticker to mark your passport. We encourage you to try the Cider Crawl specials, but any purchase counts!

  4. Visit five stops or go for them all. Collect stickers from five different businesses for one entry in the festival prize drawings. Visit all nine stops for two entries.

  5. Return your passport by Saturday, November 14. Drop it off at Heart of Ellsworth, 16 State Street, anytime during the crawl until 5 p.m. Saturday, or bring it to the Festival Market at Woodlawn between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

The prize drawings will take place at 8 p.m. November 14, streamed live on Heart of Ellsworth’s Facebook page. You do not need to be present to win. We’ll contact winners directly.
