The 2026 Downtown Ellsworth Map Is Here
Downtown Ellsworth is full of places to eat, shop, work, gather, visit and explore. Finding your way through it all is easier than ever with the 2026 Downtown Ellsworth Map. This is an updated wayfinding resource created to help residents, visitors, newcomers and seasonal travelers navigate the downtown district with more ease.
The 2026 Downtown Ellsworth Map is sponsored by Bangor Federal Credit Union, The Ellsworth American and Sealander Architects, with additional support from the City of Ellsworth, Discover Ellsworth and Downeast Acadia Regional Tourism. Heart of Ellsworth is grateful for the support that made this project possible and for the partners who continue to invest in a more visible, accessible and welcoming downtown.
Whether you are looking for a place to grab lunch, a shop to pop into, public restrooms, parking, EV charging, or a walkable route to your next downtown stop, the map is designed to help you get there.
What’s New This Year
The 2026 map includes updates and upgrades from previous versions, including the addition of service-based businesses. This expanded listing gives a fuller picture of what downtown Ellsworth has to offer, from retail, restaurants and public amenities to services and community resources.
The goal is simple: help more people understand what is here, where to find it and how connected downtown really is.
Find It Downtown
The largest version of the 2026 Downtown Ellsworth Map is on display at the Franklin Street Parklet, reinforcing the parklet’s role as a central downtown gathering area and wayfinding location.
Two smaller map installations are also located at the corner of State and Main streets and on the side of The Bud Connection. The adhesive map installations were completed by Banner City Graphics in Bucksport.
These public map locations are designed to help people orient themselves while they are already downtown, whether they are arriving for an event, meeting friends, visiting a business, or wandering with coffee in hand and no strict agenda, which frankly might be the best kind of downtown plan!
Take the Map With You
In addition to the public installations, postcards and table tents will be distributed to local businesses this week.
Postcards are designed to help people carry the map with them while exploring. Table tents will help make the map visible inside local businesses, giving customers and visitors another easy way to discover walkable destinations.
Explore the Digital Map
The 2026 Downtown Ellsworth Map is also available online.
The digital version allows users to zoom in on the map, download it as a PDF and browse downtown offerings by category, with links directly to active business pages. It can be accessed from a phone, tablet or desktop, making it useful for both planning a visit and navigating downtown in real time.
