Support from Franklin Savings Bank

We are pleased to announce a 2022/23 sponsorship of our entrepreneurial ecosystem work. Franklin Savings Bank has stepped up in a big way to assist in the continuation and expansion of our three foundational entrepreneurship programs - Bricks & Clicks (alternating years, returning in 2023), Zoom @ NoonDowntown Grants Program, and new this year community Asset Mapping project - read on for more info. Their support comes at a vital time in our organization's systematic development of Ellsworth’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. A giant heartfelt thanks to Franklin Savings Bank for helping us forward solutions to a sustainable and thriving downtown!
Ellsworth Historical Society News

The Ellsworth Historical Society has just completed a grant proposal to begin the work to save the Hancock County Sherriff's Home and Jail. The REvitalizeME Grant is available through the Maine Downtown Center in partnership with the Maine Historic Preservation Commission. Matching grants are available for 22 Main Street and Affiliate communities associated with the Maine Downtown Center. Heart of Ellsworth wants to congratulate the Historical Society board and its Old Jail committee. Volunteers spent countless hours putting forth a stellar application to save the historic building for the better of downtown Ellsworth's community.

Asset Mapping - Manifesting Main Workshops

Heart of Ellsworth is working to define what makes Downtown Ellsworth great and how to ensure it thrives into the future. And we intend to make the process fun!

With grant support from Maine Community Foundation  Downeast Innovation Fund and sponsorship from Franklin Savings Bank, we are launching Manifesting Main Workshops. we will work with HUB Collective to conduct a different sort of planning process - very hands-on and focused on capturing collective community knowledge that might not yet be well documented. Together, we will work with community members to:
  • Capture a clear, common vision for a Downtown that serves everyone
  • Identify the assets that make Downtown great already
  • Define how those assets can be made stronger and how deficits can become assets
  • Plan incremental, achievable change and success measures to track

The end result will be a tool that’s engaging, easy to understand, and helpful for all levels of decision-making involving downtown Ellsworth.
Stay tuned via social media and our newsletter
