Help Us Capture a Clear, Common Vision for Downtown
April 13-15

This project is a collaborative effort with City of Ellsworth, sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank with support from the Maine Community Foundation and led by HUB Collective. The project goal is to understand the current assets of the downtown area and explore its potential. Asset mapping is a systematic process of cataloging key services, benefits, and resources within a community, such as organizational resources, physical space, institutions, associations, and elements of the local economy, and in this case a heavy focus on community vision. We can't wait to work together!

Full Schedule of Events
Jane's Walk Partnership Event - May 7

Join the Ellsworth Historical Society in partnership with Heart of Ellsworth and sponsored by Flexit Cafe for the first Annual Jane’s Walk. This global festival of free, volunteer-led walking conversations is inspired by community activist Jane Jacobs. Jane’s Walks combine the simple act of exploring a place with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement. The annual Jane’s Walk festival takes place the first weekend in May, in more than 200 cities and towns around the globe. This year, it will be held in Maine on May 7 in downtown Ellsworth. More detailed info about Ellsworth's walk will be available soon.

Congratulations to all members of GSDA (Gender Sexuality Diversity Alliance) and Ellsworth Pride for your huge win. For two long years, Ellsworth High School and area students formulated a plan to paint a rainbow crosswalk downtown. We are so proud to report (if you have not heard already) that this spring a crosswalk will be painted in colors of the rainbow connecting Franklin and Main Streets.
