Downtown Cleanup Day

  • Heart of Ellsworth Office : 16 State Street Ellsworth, ME, 04605 United States (map)

The City of Ellsworth and Heart of Ellsworth invite residents and community members to roll up their sleeves and take part in a Downtown Cleanup Volunteer Day on Friday, August 1, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteers will meet at the Franklin Street Parklet from 9:00AM for task assignments before spreading out to tackle key projects across the downtown core.

This event is a collaborative effort between the Heart of Ellsworth Design Committee and the City of Ellsworth aimed at enhancing the appearance and health of downtown’s public spaces through weeding, litter removal, watering, and general tidying. The initiative helps prepare Ellsworth’s downtown to enhance our historic district to encourage visitors and residents to stop and enjoy the downtown.

Volunteers should be prepared to work outside and are encouraged to bring water, sun protection, gardening gloves, and weeding tools.

This is a great opportunity for neighbors, students, civic groups, and businesses to come together and contribute to the care and charm of Ellsworth’s downtown. All are welcome.
