Manifesting Main - Asset Mapping Downtown Ellsworth Wins Two Prestigious Maine Awards

In 2022, Heart of Ellsworth released Manifesting Main - Asset Mapping Downtown Ellsworth, a comprehensive study of Ellsworth’s downtown assets as well as many forward-thinking growth opportunities for the city. Since publishing the report, Manifesting Main has received two prestigious awards from admired Maine organizations — Maine Downtown Center and GrowSmart Maine.

In April, Manifesting Main received the 2022 Downtown Project of the Year Award from Maine Downtown Center, a program of the Maine Development Foundation. Maine Downtown Center’s annual awards recognize projects and individuals that make the biggest impacts in downtown communities that are part of their Maine Downtown Center program.

In October, GrowSmart Maine awarded the project its 2023 Maine Smart Growth Award: Exemplary Smart Growth Planning Initiative. The Smart Growth Awards honor projects that are contributing to a more sustainable and prosperous Maine.

This project was a collaborative effort with the City of Ellsworth, sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank with support from the Maine Community Foundation and led by HUB Collective.
