Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

We had a great site visit with Main Street America and Maine Downtown Center on Tuesday 11/8. Ellsworth is one of 9 communities in the state and less than 35 in the country working to build our Entrepreneurial Ecosystem. Through this work, we aim to spur economic revitalization, build rural resilience, and foster inclusive, vibrant, and connected rural places for the future. Together we will accomplish this with support from area business owners and entrepreneurs as well as our sponsor Franklin Savings Bank and partners; City of Ellsworth, Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce, Machias Savings Bank and area nonprofits.

If you are interested in getting involved stay tuned to our social channels or email cara@heartofellsworth.org to be added to our email list.

So many of you have told us how much downtown Ellsworth means to you, how a vibrant downtown has enriched your life or increased your sense of pride and connection to place.

Perhaps you participated in one of our events, stopped to take in the Water Street Mural or downtown wayfinding map, enjoyed the free outdoor summer concert in the parklet, received one of our downtown grants, enjoyed a cider + cheese bag, took part in our tasting event, or pressed apples as part of the Downeast Cider + Cheese Festival. Maybe you or your child took part in our asset mapping event, Manifesting Main or hiked the refurbished trail behind the library or tuned in for Meet the Candidates forum or just simply enjoyed the flowers and holiday lights on Main Street. However you interfaced with Heart of Ellsworth this past year we hope you will take a moment to support us before the end of the year.

With your help, we can increase the number of people who have access to a vibrant and thriving downtown community!

Thank you for your support of Heart of Ellsworth!

DOWNTOWN NEWS
Director and Producer, Kyle Lamont of Good to Go Studios Featured in Maine Magazine

Taking some time to reflect on the completion of our largest project to date, the Water Street Mural. One of the highlights of the three-year-long project was the community celebration in June and the headlining video, Beyond the Brick, directed and produced by Kyle Lamont of Good to Go Studios. Lamont was recently featured in a Maine Magazine interview where she shares her process and the background of our multimedia collaboration. Heart of Ellsworth is extremely grateful for Lamont and all creatives in our community who dig in to do the work of promoting this amazing place we call home - downtown Ellsworth!
