Join Us Downtown for Jane's Walk!

GrowSmart Maine and Ellsworth Historical Society is partnering with us to host the second annual Jane’s Walk in Downtown Ellsworth on Saturday, May 6!

Jane’s Walks combine the simple act of exploring a place with personal observations, local history, and civic engagement. The annual Jane’s Walk festival takes place the first weekend in May in more than 200 cities and towns around the globe.

Join the morning or afternoon walk — or both. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

The National Main Street Now Conference was a Success!

Heart of Ellsworth and 60+ other representatives from Maine communities attended the National Main Street Now Conference on March 27-29 in Boston. This affirming experience solidified that the Ellsworth community is rich in resources and opportunity. So many Main Streets around the country have the same goals and challenges — it was great to be in a room with more than 1,900 people who love their downtown district as much as we love downtown Ellsworth.

So many of you have told us how much downtown Ellsworth means to you, how a vibrant downtown has enriched your life or increased your sense of pride and connection to place.

Perhaps you participated in one of our events, stopped to take in the Water Street Mural or downtown wayfinding map, enjoyed the free outdoor summer concert in the parklet, received one of our downtown grants, enjoyed a cider + cheese bag, took part in our tasting event, or pressed apples as part of the Downeast Cider + Cheese Festival. Maybe you or your child took part in our asset mapping event, Manifesting Main or hiked the refurbished trail behind the library or tuned in for Meet the Candidates forum or just simply enjoyed the flowers and holiday lights on Main Street. However you interfaced with Heart of Ellsworth this past year we hope you will take a moment to support us this year.

With your help, we can increase the number of people who have access to a vibrant and thriving downtown community!
