Heart of Ellsworth Hosts Realtor Relations Kickoff at Zeppa’s Pizza
Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Heart of Ellsworth’s Economic Vitality Committee hosted a Realtor Relations Kickoff at Zeppa’s New York Pizza, bringing together local Realtors, committee volunteers, city representation, Heart of Ellsworth staff, and local business perspective for an evening of conversation and connection.
The event was created with a simple idea in mind: Realtors are often some of the first people introducing new residents, families, business owners, and investors to Ellsworth. Their work goes beyond showing a property. In many cases, they are also answering questions about what it feels like to live here and work here.
Because of that, Heart of Ellsworth saw an opportunity to begin building a more consistent relationship with the real estate community. The kickoff gathering was designed to help local agents speak to the value of downtown Ellsworth, better understand the work happening in the community, and see Heart of Ellsworth as a resource when they are helping others learn about the community. The original event invitation framed this as an effort to help Realtors “sell Ellsworth beyond the listing” while gaining practical takeaways and fresh ways to talk about the community.
Why Realtors?
Downtown Ellsworth is shaped by many people: residents, business owners, property owners, volunteers, city staff, local organizations, visitors, and those who are considering making Ellsworth part of their future. Realtors are one part of that larger network.
This event did not happen because one group holds all the answers. It happened because Realtors are in regular conversation with people who are trying to understand Ellsworth from the outside looking in. When someone is deciding whether to move here, open a storefront, invest in a building, or put down roots, the way downtown is described matters.
What Happened at the Event
The evening began with time for food and informal conversation before a short program and networking. The run of show included remarks from Heart of Ellsworth, a local business owner perspective, updates related to the City of Ellsworth, information on historic designation and tax credits, and discussion about how Heart of Ellsworth can continue supporting stronger communication with local Realtors.
Topics included downtown vitality, local business support, community resources, historic preservation, and the value of helping people understand Ellsworth as more than a place on a map. The conversation also connected to broader Economic Vitality Committee goals, including supporting downtown businesses by aligning resources, partnerships, and data-driven initiatives that strengthen Ellsworth’s economic vitality.
A Broader Effort to Support Downtown
This kickoff is part of a broader Realtor relations effort led through Heart of Ellsworth’s Economic Vitality Committee. In planning the event, the committee identified the importance of giving Realtors tools and language they can use when speaking with clients, acknowledging downtown opportunities, and helping them understand how Heart of Ellsworth can serve as a resource.
That matters because downtown growth does not happen through one project, one organization, or one group alone. It happens through steady relationship building. It happens when people understand what resources exist, who is doing what work, and how to connect others to the right information.
Thank You
Heart of Ellsworth is grateful to Hugh and Hannah of Zeppa’s for generously hosting the gathering and providing food, and to everyone who joined the conversation.
As this effort continues, Heart of Ellsworth will keep looking for ways to share information, support local partners, and help more people understand the value, opportunity, and momentum of downtown Ellsworth.
