Meet the Committee: Organization

This March, we are dedicating each week to meeting one of our four committees. These committees are based on Main Street America’s Four Point Approach, a nationally recognized framework for downtown revitalization. Using this approach helps ensure the work is community led, volunteer powered, and built to last.

Heart of Ellsworth is proud to be an accredited Main Street America organization as of 2025. That accreditation reflects a commitment to best practices, accountability, and meaningful community involvement, and it also reminds us that revitalization is never a solo project. It takes neighbors, businesses, partners, and volunteers working together toward a shared vision for downtown Ellsworth.

Why committees matter

Our committees are one of the biggest ways community voices directly shape the work. Each committee meets monthly and focuses on a different part of revitalization. When those four parts work together, we get a sustainable and complete effort that supports economic growth, stronger public spaces, and a vibrant downtown experience for everyone.

Organization is the backbone

We are starting with the Organization Committee, the group that makes sure the “how” is as strong as the “why.”

This committee focuses on the behind the scenes work that keeps Heart of Ellsworth steady and effective. Organization helps build the strong foundation that makes every project, event, and partnership possible. That includes planning and accountability, strengthening internal systems, supporting volunteers, and building relationships that move the work forward. It is where long term stability meets real world action.

If you are someone who likes strategy, structure, teamwork, and making big efforts run smoothly, Organization may be a great fit. The wins here are sometimes quieter, but they ripple out into everything else we do.
