Patricia Keenan

PJ Keenan is a proud native of Blue Hill, Maine, who briefly traded lobster boats for city lights after college with a move to New York City. While the experience was memorable, it didn’t take long to realize that Hancock County had something no big city could match: a true sense of home.

Now back where she belongs, PJ is deeply rooted in the community and passionate about the people who make Ellsworth special. As a board member of Heart of Ellsworth, PJ is committed to celebrating and strengthening the vibrant downtown that truly lives up to its name.

A longtime storyteller and performer, PJ has worked as a tour guide in Acadia National Park, sharing the region’s beauty, history, and a healthy dose of Maine humor with visitors from near and far. That sense of humor isn’t new—it’s been in regular rotation since high school and continues to make appearances whenever there’s an audience (or even when there isn’t).

PJ also serves on the Board of Directors for The Grand Theater, where you might just spot her not only behind the scenes but under the stage lights as well. When not working to support local arts and downtown vitality, PJ stays active in the community as a member of Ellsworth Rotary, the Order of the Eastern Star, and as an advisor for the Ellsworth Rainbow Girls.

Whether on stage, at a meeting, or around town, PJ brings energy, humor, and a deep love for Ellsworth—because after all, there’s no place like home.
