Sara McDougall
Board member
Since graduating from Wellesley College with a BA in Studio Art and Art History, Sara has taught art for 20 years in public schools, a private school, and a museum while exploring Maine with her husband and 3 children. After living in Dedham and then central Maine, she and her family moved to Ellsworth 4 years ago and Sara has enjoyed taking advantage of the cultural opportunities Ellsworth offers in addition to exploring, hiking, and painting in Downeast Maine. She currently teaches Visual Art at Ellsworth High School.
“I’ve enjoyed working with the Heart of Ellsworth in both of my professional roles: as an educator on the Water Street Mural and the 16 State Street gallery space and as an artist through the Downtown Grants program and Bricks and Clicks. As a board member, I’m excited about the Arts and Culture projects that the Heart of Ellsworth supports and I’m looking forward to strengthening and expanding opportunities for youth in downtown Ellsworth.”
